Hardware and Software Requirements for Version 10.0

The following hardware and software items are needed to run the ILLiad system effectively. They are not provided as part of the licensing of ILLiad or as part of the service contract with Atlas Systems.

These requirements ensure that ILLiad will perform well for you and have all the necessary features available to support functionality. While ILLiad may run in unsupported environments with older than the minimum required software and hardware, we cannot guarantee operation.

Important: Minimum System Requirements Have Changed in Version 10.0

Please note the following updated requirements:

• Client Workstation: Windows 11 is now required
• Server: Windows Server 2019 or later is now required
• Database: SQL Server 2019 or later is now required (previously SQL Server 2012)
• Framework: .NET 8.0 Runtime is now required (previously .NET Framework 4.6.2)
• Browser Component: WebView2 is now required (Chromium has been removed)

Server Requirements

You can install Windows on a physical server or virtual server as long as it meets the hardware and software requirements.

The following hardware and software are compatible with the ILLiad server:

*ILLiad requires the SQL Server Database Engine but does not use Analysis Services, Reporting Services, or Integration Services. Mixed mode authentication is also required.

**The SQL Server Native Client is installed as part of the client & server installation and is also part of the server update process, so no action is typically required. However, installing or updating to SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) v19 will remove the SQL Server Native Client from the server, at which point this component will need to be reinstalled.

Client Requirements

Windows 11 is now the minimum required operating system for ILLiad 10.0.

Windows 10 and earlier versions are no longer supported in ILLiad 10.0.

The following hardware and software are compatible with the ILLiad client:

Windows Version

If you are running 64-bit Windows, you will need to make a change to the .dll to support ILLiad. View your Windows version by going to Computer - Properties - System.

1. Open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager on the server.
2. Click on the server name, then click on Application Pools.
3. Right-click on the DefaultAppPool and click Advanced Settings.
4. Change Enable 32-Bit Applications from False to True.

Web Client Requirements

ILLiad 10.0 introduces a new Web Client that provides browser-based access to ILLiad functionality. The Web Client has the following requirements:

Search Service Requirements (Optional)

ILLiad 10.0 includes an optional Lucene.NET-based search service that provides advanced search capabilities. If you choose to use the search service, the following requirements apply:

Disk Space	Additional disk space for search indexes (varies based on database size) Recommended: 10GB minimum for index storage

The Search Service is optional. ILLiad will automatically fall back to SQL-based search if the search service is unavailable.
