Update Stacks Search Results (Document Delivery)
The Update Stacks Search Results page allows staff to process document delivery transactions after searching for items in the library's physical collection. This processing page is located under Doc Del > Update Stacks Search Results on the left-hand navigation and provides the same functionality as the desktop client's update stacks search process, with a web-based interface.
Page Structure
The Update Stacks Search page includes:
- Search Controls (top of page)
- Search by Transaction Number, ILL Number, or Citation Information
- Filter to search only In Stacks Searching requests or all requests
- Search Results Tab
- Request Details Tab
- Processing Buttons (bottom of screen)
Searching for Transactions
- Navigate to Doc Del > Update Stacks Search Results from the left-hand navigation.
- Search for the transaction. You can scan the barcode from the pull slip, or manually enter the transaction number or other information.
- Optionally, use the In Stacks Searching Only filter to limit results to transactions at the status of In DD Stacks Searching.
- Click the Search button or press Enter.
- If multiple results are returned: Double-click a transaction in the results grid to view its details in the Request Details Tab.
- If only one result is returned: The Request Details Tab automatically opens.
Using a Barcode Scanner
A barcode scanner can be used to quickly search for transactions by scanning the transaction number from the pull slip.
Updating Transaction Information
After locating a transaction, you can update various fields in the Request Details Tab before processing, such as:
- Due date
- Location information
- Notes
- Other transaction details
Changes are saved when you use one of the processing buttons.
Processing the Request
Use the processing buttons to update the transaction status:
- Mark Found: Routes the request to Awaiting Doc Del Customer Contact. If billing is enabled, the Add Billing Charges form will appear first.
- Mark Not Found: Opens the Reasons for Not Found list and routes the request to Doc Del Item Not Found. From this status, items can be routed back to Borrowing.
- Cancel Request: Opens the Reason for Cancellation list and routes the request to Cancelled by ILL Staff. You can optionally send an email notification to the patron.
The availability of processing buttons depends on your staff permissions and whether billing is enabled for document delivery.
