EDU Backup Folder Cleanup
Over time the Backup subfolders accumulate every file EDU has delivered. This article covers the built-in cleanup tool. For where the Backup subfolder comes from, see the EDU Administrator Guide.
How it works
When you run the cleanup, EDU first shows a preview: how many files are older than your cutoff and how much space they take up — nothing is deleted yet. If you confirm, EDU deletes those files and reports how many it removed, how much space it freed, and any it couldn't delete. A file's age is measured from when it was last changed.
EDU looks for Backup folders everywhere beneath each watched folder — the top-level Backup plus any Backup folders inside subfolders — without scanning the same one twice. Within each Backup folder it cleans only the files directly inside it, not anything in deeper subfolders.
Confirmation dialog
Cleanup is triggered from the left-menu Clean Backup Folder item. It previews first, then shows a Yes/No confirmation (default focus on No):

This action cannot be undone.
There's no undo. If some files delete and others can't, EDU still counts the run as done and lists any it couldn't remove.
EDU never cleans up on its own — someone has to run it. If you want it done regularly, have staff run it on a set schedule, or set up a separate scheduled task to clear the same folders.
