Instructor and Student Tools Menus
Ares faculty and student users access the reserves department via the Web Interface. The Web Interface connection to Ares is http://Ares/ServerName/Ares. After being cleared by library staff, those users that have been given Instructor Privileges can log into Ares from the Web Interface to create courses and add reserve items to those courses. Users can also be given Full Proxy or Course Proxy status for an Instructor's courses. This allows them access to the Instructor's courses so that they may assist the Instructor with certain tasks within those courses.
The available Tools menu options depend upon the user type, that is, whether the user is an Instructor or student, and whether the user has been designated a a Full or Course Proxy for an Instructor. The tables below list the different user types and the Tools menus available to each type.
