Document Delivery Workflow
Document Delivery requests come from your own patrons rather than another library, so there is no lending partner and no OCLC status to update. Requests enter at the Awaiting Doc Del Processing queue and split by what was requested: articles are scanned or retrieved electronically and delivered to the patron, while loans are pulled from the stacks and checked out.
The charts below are alternatives, not steps in a sequence.
Print Articles
The article exists in print and is retrieved from the stacks, scanned, and delivered electronically to the patron.

Loans
A physical item is pulled, processed, and checked out to the patron, then checked back in on return.

Electronic Articles
The article is already available electronically, so the stacks-searching and scanning steps drop out.
