Update Stacks Search Results (Lending)

The Update Stacks Search Results page allows staff to process lending transactions after searching for items in the library's physical collection.

Page Structure

The Update Stacks Search page includes:

  • Search Controls (top of page)
    • Search by Transaction Number, ILL Number, or Citation Information
    • Filter to search only In Stacks Searching requests or all requests
  • Results Grid
  • Request Details Tab
  • Processing Buttons (bottom of screen)

Searching for Transactions

  1. Navigate to Lending > Update Stacks Search Results from the left-hand navigation.
  2. Enter search criteria (Transaction Number, ILL Number, or Citation Information).
  3. Optionally, use the In Stacks Searching Only filter to limit results to transactions at the status of In Stacks Searching.
  4. Click the Search button or press Enter. The record will display in the results grid below.
  5. If more than one record appears, double-click the appropriate record to view its details.
  6. If only one result is returned, the Request Details tab automatically opens.

Optional Filters

You can further refine your search using this filter:

  • In Stacks Searching Only - Limit results to transactions currently in stacks searching status

Using a Barcode Scanner

A barcode scanner can be used to quickly search for transactions by scanning the transaction number barcode from the pull slip.

Processing the Request

Once you have located and reviewed the transaction, verify the following before processing:

  1. Verify Details: Confirm that the information in the Request Details tab matches the physical item.
  2. Check OCLC Status: Review the OCLC Status field. If the status is anything other than CONSIDERING or CONDITIONS_ACCEPTED, it will be highlighted. Use this information to determine if the requested item is still needed by the borrower, or if the request has moved on to another potential lender.
  3. Review Due Date: A Due Date will appear by default, but you can modify this date if needed.

After verification, use the processing buttons to update the transaction status:

  • Mark Found: Routes the request to the appropriate next status for found items. Processing depends on your lending workflow configuration.
  • Cancel Request: Cancels the lending request and routes it to the cancelled status.
  • Conditionalize: Allows you to set conditions for lending the item or communicate special requirements to the borrowing institution.
info

If billing is enabled, Mark Found requires billing permissions. After processing, the search field automatically receives focus for efficient workflow.
