Fixes

• Fixed MFA enrolled in one web client locking staff out of the other. The legacy staff web client and the new one share the stored authenticator enrollment but each install kept its own encryption key, so setting up MFA in one client made login fail in the other. The install and update scripts now adopt the legacy install's MFA key automatically on every run, and a remaining key mismatch reports a clear "MFA key mismatch" error with the fix instead of a generic failure.
• Fixed desktop client saves failing on upgraded v7 databases. The v7 schema added filtered indexes to the Staff and Addons tables that made every save from the legacy desktop clients (Staff Manager, Customization Manager, System Manager) fail with SQL error 1934. The upgrade script now rebuilds those indexes in a legacy-compatible form — re-run aeon-v7-upgrade.sql on any affected database to self-heal; no data is touched.
• Installing the on-prem component ZIP from a deep folder no longer fails partway through. The web client payload inside the ZIP is now laid out with much shorter paths, so expanding the ZIP in a location like a Downloads folder and running Install.ps1 stays safely under the Windows path-length limit. If the chosen location is still too deep, the install and update scripts now stop up front with clear guidance instead of failing mid-copy.
• Two dead ends removed from the Single Sign-On settings page. Uploading an SP certificate older than the current signing certificate used to fail with an error telling you to "add it again confirming the immediate switch" — with no way to confirm; a dialog now offers that confirmation and retries the upload. And the Test sign-in button always ran the SAML flow, so on an OpenID Connect configuration it failed as if the IdP were misconfigured; it now tests whichever protocol is saved.
• SSO invitations now work on OpenID Connect configurations. The emailed invitation's "Continue to your institution" button always started a SAML handshake, so on an OIDC instance the invited staff member's sign-in failed as if the link were broken. The button now starts whichever sign-in flow the instance is configured for.
• Print Designer now offers every real request and user field. Item Edition, Place, Publisher, Citation, ISBN/ISSN, and User Info 1–5 are all available, and Researcher, Appointment, and Staff fields now print real values instead of coming out blank. Date of Birth is no longer available on print templates, and billing field restrictions now also hide values derived from the restricted fields (line amounts and totals computed from restricted fees).
• The Print Designer no longer lists user fields that Aeon doesn't store. The Fields palette used to offer Middle Name, Phone 2, Title, Authorization Category, and NVTGC under User Fields, but Aeon has no such columns, so those tags only ever printed blank. They have been removed.
• Setting a print template as the default now works. In the Print Designer, "Set as Default" failed with a server error and left the previous template in place, so callslips and other documents kept printing from the old default. The new default is now saved correctly.
• Print Designer invoice and statement sample totals now match their line items. Previewing an Invoice or Invoice Statement template showed placeholder totals that contradicted the sample charge and payment rows — in the server-rendered Preview PDF the statement totals were exactly doubled ($250 charges / $100 payments / $150 due) relative to the rows printed above them. The Preview PDF and the designer canvas now draw from one consistent sample dataset: five sample charges totaling $125.00, a single $50.00 payment, and a $75.00 amount due, so both read as a correct statement whose totals add up.
• Printed invoices and statements show charges in dollars again. Amounts in generated PDFs were picking up a generic currency sign from the server's locale instead of the dollar sign shown in the Print Designer canvas.
• Cancelling a request no longer dead-ends staff who can't send email. When your role lacks the Email permission, the Cancel Request dialog now hides the "Send email" option and simply cancels the request, instead of opening a blank Compose Email window that failed with a permission error. The same fix applies to linking a user to an activity and to rescheduling an appointment.
• Queued request and appointment emails now show up in Outgoing Emails. On multi-site installs the Pending and Failed queues (and their counts) were scoped to a site group stored against your staff record rather than the site or site group you have selected, so emails sent from a request could stay invisible in the queue. They now follow your current site selection and update when you switch sites.
• Activities filters stay put when you leave the page and come back. The filters, sort and activity-type scope you set on the Activities list are now remembered for the rest of your session, so clicking over to another section and back no longer clears them. Removing a filter chip or using Clear all still clears them for good.
• Dragging a routing rule to a new position no longer snaps it back to the wrong spot. The Customization Manager's Routing section now saves the exact order you drop a rule into, including when inactive rules sit between active ones.
• Customization Manager Quick Actions in the Ctrl+K palette now work instead of doing nothing. Opening the palette with an empty search box used to list eight "New ..." Quick Actions on every screen, and clicking any of them just closed the palette. The palette now lists only the actions that can actually be started from the section you're on — New Queue, New Routing Rule, New Batch Process and New Reading Room on their own screens — and each one opens the same new-item editor as that screen's own New button.
• The Queue and Activity designers can now be reset to the system default. Their overflow (⋯) menu now carries a "Reset to System Default" item, the same one the Card and Form designers already had — confirm it and the selected template's layout goes back to the built-in default.
• Validation Links now suggest the form and rule set names that exist. Form Name and Rule Set are pick-or-type fields: choose from the names Aeon already knows about, or type your own for a custom form or a rule set you haven't written rules for yet. If a name doesn't match anything, the editor says so while you're editing instead of silently saving a link that never applies.
• "View All" on a request's user notes now opens the user's Notes tab. It used to drop you on the user's Detail tab, so you had to click through to Notes yourself.
• The Referrer ID column now appears first in the OpenURL Mapping table. In Customization Manager → Integrations & Messaging → OpenURL Mapping, Referrer ID was the last column on the far right, so matching a referrer (e.g. ArchivesSpace) to the row you wanted to edit meant scrolling the table sideways or sorting by it first. It is now the leftmost column, matching the Windows client, so the referrer for each mapping reads at a glance.
• Blank Namespace values in the EAD Mapping list now show a dash. In Customization Manager → Integrations & Messaging → EAD Mapping, a rule saved without a namespace left the Namespace column completely empty, while rules without a URI Match or XPath Match showed a -. Every optional column now uses the same - placeholder, so an empty cell no longer looks like a rendering glitch.
• The shading on the appointment calendar now says what it means. The grey diagonal hatch that marks hours a reading room is not open had no label and no key anywhere on the screen, so it was impossible to tell whether it meant closed, do-not-book, or nothing at all. Closed hours are now labelled Closed in the Day, Month and Timeline views, the Timeline's exception bands label themselves the way the Day view's already did, and a small key under the calendar spells out each treatment: closed outside open hours, closed by exception, and reduced availability.
• Panels and borders are easier to tell apart in both themes. Dark mode's surfaces were stacked too close together to show where one panel ended and the next began, and light mode mixed beige panels with cool grey borders so sections blended into each other. Surfaces and borders now step apart more clearly, and light mode's greys are all on the same neutral tone.
• An open request record now stands out from the panels around it. The record was painted the same color as the frame it sits in, so its edges disappeared. It now uses the raised card surface, making the boundary between the record and the surrounding chrome visible in both light and dark mode.
• Callslip is now spelled the same way everywhere in Aeon. The "Processing Your First Request" tour step that points at the Print Callslip button was titled "Print the call slip"; it now reads "Print the Callslip", matching the button it highlights. The Print Designer's template-type list and the print-template API that feeds it also called the type a "Call Slip" and described it as "Print call slips for retrieving materials" — both now use the one-word spelling.
